The Sixth Annual Austin Duck Derby will make a big splash for great futures on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Presented by Kidd Roofing, the signature duck race will begin at 11 a.m. with the launch of 19,000 eco-friendly rubber ducks into Lady Bird Lake from the Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. Austinites are invited to participate by adopting one or multiple ducks to compete in the race, with individual prizes to be awarded for top-finishing ducks, as well as group prizes for leading registered teams. Prizes include a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, a weeklong trip to Telluride, Colorado for two, an HP Omen gaming computer, custom made cruiser bicycle with helmet and much more! Adopt your ducks online at www.AustinDuckDerby.com–$5 per duck, $25 Quack Pack (6) or $100 for a whole flock (25). Proceeds from adoptions benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area together with the Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation—ensuring that thousands of local youth can reach their full potential to become productive, caring and responsible citizens. Come out and enjoy the family-friendly festival featuring live music by Cilantro Boombox and fun activities in the grassy area between the lake and the Austin American-Statesman parking lot.
