Camp Mabry Youth Fishing Derby

Jan 14, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

3rd Annual Camp Mabry Youth Fishing Derby on January 14, 2017 from 9 am to 1 pm! Come on over and fish for rainbow trout! Don’t know how to fish? That’s OK, we’ll let you borrow a fishing pole and teach you a thing or two about fishing and aquatic ecosystems. This event is free and for youth 16 years of age and younger…and the ponds are stocked with rainbow trout! Texas Parks and Wildlife, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Boy Scouts, National Civilian Conservation Corps, and the Texas Army National Guard environmental department are partnering to bring you this event with many fun and educational activities. Pack a picnic lunch or purchase a delicious hot dog at the Evil Wiener food truck. Make a day of it and visit the free Museum also located on Camp Mabry. Adults must provide photo ID to enter Camp Mabry. Those who want to fish ages 17 and older must have a Texas Parks and Wildlife fishing permit as well as purchase a Camp Mabry fishing permit.
