On Sunday January 19th at 6pm the Scrumptious Chef cooking team will be putting years of research to good use in the Tamale House kitchen in East Austin, Texas as they host their sprawling 10th anniversary Cajun gumbo party pop up.
This is that real gumbo that you typically only find in households in rural Louisiana.
They’ll also be serving fried Louisiana catfish with white beans, frozen daiquiris, shrimp fondeaux, and a special flaming dessert.
They’re smuggling a 20lb bag of rice from Crowley, the rice capital of Louisiana, and 20lbs of pecan smoked andouille from Best Stop in Lafayette Parish on their trip into Austin. This is real Cajun food cher.
They’ll have a little lagniappe for early arriving guests, and Tamale House will feature a New Orleans-themed cocktail menu for purchase
