Soursop and St Elmo Brewing are teaming up to host Crawfish Boil Part Deux on Sunday, May 19. Taking place at the brewery from 12 to 8pm, enjoy live Cajun music by Charles Thibodeaux and The Austin Cajun Aces and grab a basket of Viet-Cajun Style Crawfish from Soursop, cooked up with garlic butter, Thai basil, and secret seasoning, served with potatoes, corn, and garlic toast. Baskets are $20 while supplies last. And they will go fast. The event is family and pet friendly.

New Monuments for New Cities: Cinema on the Creek

As part of the three-month public art showcase, New Monuments for New Cities, Waller Creek Conservancy will present Cinema on the Creek in partnership with the Austin Film Society. Three free screenings will be presented at the amphitheater at Symphony Square, home of Waller Creek Conservancy. The films include critically-acclaimed documentaries and short films that explore topics from public housing to ambitious public art. Each screening will also include a discussion panel with community partners. Austin Shakespeare will bring the romance, comedy and dramatic clashes of The Merchant of Venice to the Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater in May. Produced in collaboration with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department for the 35th year, Shakespeare’s famous play will be performed under the stars from May 9 to May 26 on Thursdays to Sundays at 8 p.m., with a preview performance on Wednesday, May 8.
