We Are Blood, the exclusive provider of the blood supply for 10 counties in Central Texas, hosts Battle of the Badges, an annual competition between Austin Police Department, Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department to encourage much-needed blood donations. Individuals that donate July 1 through July 7 will have the opportunity to vote for one of the competing departments. The departments will battle it out to see who can recruit the most blood donors and the one to receive the most votes is declared the winner. Corvette Invasion is a gathering of over 300 Corvette owners and fans in Bastrop and Austin, Texas. This is the biggest Corvette event, and one of the biggest car events in Texas! The three-day event begins with a "meet and greet" for registered participants at the Bastrop Convention Center parking lot on Friday (7/19). Saturday at 9:00 a.m. there will be a Corvette Car Show and award ceremony.
