We Are Blood’s Annual Battle of the Badges 2019

We Are Blood, the exclusive provider of the blood supply for 10 counties in Central Texas, hosts Battle of the Badges, an annual competition between Austin Police Department, Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department to encourage much-needed blood donations. Individuals that donate July 1 through July 7 will have the opportunity to vote for one of the competing departments. The departments will battle it out to see who can recruit the most blood donors and the one to receive the most votes is declared the winner. On Wednesday, July 3 at Vista Brewing, Chef Andrew Stiver of Vista Brewing’s grill and Vista Brewmaster Pat Korn are joining forces with the team at Duchman Family Winery for a four course pairing dinner featuring both Visa brews and Duchman wines. Chef Stiver brings his unique perspective on modern Texas cuisine: hyper-local sourcing including fresh harvest from Vista’s 1-acre organic farm. Chef Stiver incorporates smoking and wood-fired grilling techniques, as well as house-made breads, pickling and fermenting. Each course is expertly paired with one of Vista’s brews or Duchman wine.
