    Come spend the day with Leap of Joy as they celebrate the beginning of Winter Break! Kids can be dropped off and will get to explore: festive crafts, holiday-themed games, hot cocoa bar, holiday movies, jingle bell dance party and more! 11:00am – 5:00pm on Friday December 20. $10 per hour or $45 for the entire day, lunch is provided when paying the full day amount. Ages 4 years and up are welcome.

    Leap of Joy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit providing Dance and Theater Arts classes to Title 1 schools in the Austin Metro. Your participating in our event is tax-deductible and you are helping to support a local nonprofit benefiting the children of Austin! Thank you!!

      ARTS For Rural Texas ArtWalk is held the first weekend in May in collaboration with The Compound’s Arts Festival in Round Top. This art-filled weekend in Fayette County features the work of over 100 artists, displaying their creativity in a wide range of mediums. Both shows are juried events that benefit the projects and programs for children throughout Fayette County.

      Take advantage of not only the art, but all that is offered throughout the countryside from quaint and sophisticated B&Bs to fine art galleries, fine and countrified dining options and top notch music, performed in any number of venues from Fayetteville, Lagrange, and Round Top.

        About Kira

        Kira Willey is an award-winning children’s music artist, kids’ yoga & mindfulness expert, speaker, and creator of Rockin’ Yoga school programs. Kira’s four releases of yoga albums for kids have all won numerous industry awards and earned national acclaim; her hit songs include “Colors,” which was featured in a worldwide Dell ad campaign. Her most recent release is Every Voice, winner of Parents’ Choice Gold, that Foundation’s highest award.

        Kira’s TEDx talk, “Bite-Sized Mindfulness,” can be viewed online, and her children’s mindfulness book, “Breathe Like a Bear,” was published in December; it’s been translated into eight foreign languages so far. PBS TV affiliates nationwide air several different yoga-for-kids programs Kira created and hosts, and her “Music You Can Move To” series with kids’ music superstar Laurie Berkner can be heard daily on SiriusXM Radio.

        Kira leads Professional Development days for teachers, conducts music and yoga workshops, speaks at education conferences, and performs Rockin’ Yoga School Assemblies and Concerts with her band nationwide. She also leads the River Valley Choir, plays fiddle in the bluegrass band Moonshine & Millet, and is a founder of the area’s new singing-is-for-everyone experience, Pop-Up Choir!

            The Inflatable Run & Festival Comes to Austin’s Travis County Expo Center on September 22, 2018

            1 Mile / 5K Inflatable Obstacle Course Includes Full Day of Entertainment with Costume Contest, Live Shows, Food Trucks, Carnival Games and a Gigantic Water Balloon Battle

            The most unique 5K run ever designed will be held at Austin’s Travis County Expo Center. The Inflatable Run is a family-friendly event featuring a mile-long course built entirely of kid-friendly, colorful, inflatable obstacles to duck under, bounce off, climb through, and slide down, which racers can run three times, for a total of 5K. The area will be packed with live music, food carts, carnival games, face painting, magic shows, inflatable Zorb balls to ride, a massive water balloon battle and a costume contest. Kids can also meet The Inflatable Run mascot, “Mr. Wacky”, who is, himself, an inflatable tube man. Ideal for families or even company gatherings, the Inflatable Run is suitable for all ages.

            The event benefits Just Care More, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged, foster and special needs youth. Parents and kids will race through the inflatable obstacle course, dance to live music, or indulge in a tasty treat, all while knowing profits from the run will be donated to a charity helping at-risk youth learn life lessons thru the discovery of hobbies and passions.

              Amazon’s Treasure Truck is rolling out the red carpet in your city this July for two free outdoor movie events. Movie goers of all ages can enjoy Fox Searchlight’s Isle of Dogs on July 14. Gather your friends and family and spend an evening under the stars celebrating all things fun and summer!

              Gates open at 6 p.m. to grab a popcorn snack and partake in entertainment, activities, games, giveaways, and fun provided by the Treasure Truck, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Movie will begin at 8 p.m. (light permitting).

                Amazon’s Treasure Truck is rolling out the red carpet in your city this July for two free outdoor movie events. Gather your friends and family and spend an evening under the stars celebrating all things fun and summer!

                  Join Ley Line and local artists on a musical journey around the world! Come prepared to sing, dance, create, learn, listen and play instruments as we explore music, rhythm and movement from Brazil, Latin America, West Africa and the United States!

                    Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Lucy Dacus, Kyle Craft, U.S. Girls, and Red Yarn will perform live for Austin kids and families at the 6th annual MyMusicRx + YOU WHO! Rock Show for Kids at the FADER FORT on Thursday March 15.

                    The YOU WHO! Rock Show for Kids is a family friendly, morning concert that benefits MyMusicRx, the flagship program of the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA). MyMusicRx bedside and online music medicine programs deliver the healing power of music to hospitalized kids across the country.

                    Since 2014, YOU WHO! shows have cultivated a devoted following of more than 2,500 influential Austin moms, dads, and kids, treating them to up-close performances from artists like Shakey Graves, Sara Watkins, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, The Zombies, Best Coast, Heartless “Bathtubs”, Tacocat, Aloe Blacc, and Les Claypool. YOU WHO! has raised nearly $80,000 to fuel MyMusicRx programs.

                    MyMusicRx has served more than 180,000 children along with their families, caregivers, and medical professionals across the country including through a local in-hospital concert partnership with Dell Children’s Medical Center. In 2018, MyMusicRx will launch its bedside service at St. David’s Children’s Hospital. To ensure long-term, sustainable program growth, CCA has assembled a local advisory board comprised of community members and executives from leading Austin businesses and firms. Proceeds from ticket sales will support MyMusicRx’s local programs.

                    If you’re hoping to give back by volunteering as a family, Little Helping Hands is the way to go. They facilitate family volunteering by organizing and leading volunteer activities suitable for kids as young as 3 years of age. For older kids and teens, educational and leadership programs are offered that enhance the learning that comes through service experiences. Families can easily sign up to volunteer on a wide variety of hands-on activities that will begin to expose children to what it means to help the community that we live in directly by offering help to the homelessness, children and families in need, animals, the elderly, and more. In this season of giving, there are several ways to help Little Helping Hands, including donations, purchasing a gift from their wish list, or by becoming a family sponsor.
