    Good Snake is an independent creative studio in Austin, Texas from Kayla Fritz and Hannah Epelbaum. Join them as they fill the Volcom Garden with their organized chaos of mutual connections in a showing of their latest illustrative paintings and a couple other surprises.

      Join us for a lively conversation in the gallery about the appropriation and appreciation of yoga culture with artist Preetika Rajgariah and other special guests.

      TalkAbout is a program that facilitates casual conversations with artists and the people who inspire them.

      Preetika Rajgariah (b. 1985) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores themes of cultural identity, perceptions of exoticism, and gendered materiality while specifically referencing her upbringing as an Indian born American. She has attended residencies at ACRE, the Vermont Studio Center, and the School of Visual Arts, and her work was included in New American Paintings #102. She has exhibited at a variety of spaces nationally such as Western Exhibitions, Roots & Culture, and Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, IL, Fort Gondo in St. Louis, as well as Art League and Lawndale Art Center in Houston, TX. She received her BFA from Trinity University (2008) and MFA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2018). Currently, she lives and works in Houston, TX.

        Gabe Leonard is an internationally acclaimed California-based artist, best known for his cinematically staged paintings of sharpshooters, gangsters, gamblers, and musicians. His aesthetic and subject matter have been described as a melding of Johnny Cash and Quentin Tarantino. Meet the artist and watch as he demonstrates his painting technique live in the gallery. Original oils, hand-embellished artist proofs, and limited edition giclees on canvas will be available for collection with signing and dedication by the artist.

          Waller Creek Conservancy, in partnership with the City of Austin, is developing a chain of parks around a restored Waller Creek in downtown Austin.             atxGALS welcomes Spring Season with an intimate and fun art pop-up at The Refinery, located in the heart of downtown Austin.

            Following their unique approach in changing the way art exhibits are typically done, the talented group will be transforming this urban space into yet another fabulous room full of incredible art from some of Austin’s top emerging talent. Meet the artists, sip on a cocktail from the open bar, and support the incredible cause behind it all– a portion of the proceeds benefit a local non-profit, Girls Empowerment Network.

            The event will kick off at 6pm on Friday, April 19th and will feature the work of 10 emerging local female artists, music by DJ Diggy Dutch, open bar, small bites from local favorites, swag bags for all VIP ticket buyers, and a sweet raffle benefiting GEN.

                  The Austin Craft Riot is holding their 2nd Annual Summer Show this weekend. They are brining some of the most talented local artists and vintage sellers together under one roof.
