    Looking for a Day Camp for the kiddos on Presidents’ Day (February 20th)? How about taking them to the Art Garage for a Matisse inspired art day camp!
    Inspired by the work & life of Henri Matisse, kids will paint an adorable pottery snail, create a Matisse inspired collage, and complete a unique acrylic painting in the style of the featured artist. Art Day Camps, taught by a certified art teacher, are so much fun and the kids are so proud of the artwork they create.

    Celebrate Elisabet Ney, her art and her legacy at the 4th Annual Ney Day event happening this Saturday, May 21, 2016! The Elisabet Ney Museum is set on lush grounds in Austin and was once the studio of Elisabet Ney, a German classically-trained sculptor who moved to Austin in 1892. Her studio, which was called Formosa, is now home to the museum and houses many items from her collection of work.

    This family-friendly event will feature the trapeze artistry of Madi Ward with Elizabeth McQuuen emceeing.

    The Jones Center is hosting a special night just for teens and their families on April 2, 2016.

    As dusk encroaches on the heart of downtown Austin, The Jones Center will open its doors to teens and their families to revel in the wonders of contemporary art and experiences inspired by the exhibition Mark Mothersbaugh: Mytopia. The night will be full or art and experiences including:

    • “I” Exam: Create your own inkblot art to interpret your inner thoughts.
    • Karaoke Battle: Get your karaoke on or cheer for your friends!
    • Memory Machine: Take your mutant portrait in our strange photo booth.
    • Myopia is Your-Opia: Explore the exhibition…with a perspective twist. Put on 3-D glasses for a one-of-a-kind zine experience!
    • Elevator Party: Groove to soundtracks by the artist as heard in the movie Life Aquatic.
    • Mail Art: Doodle a postcard inspired by Mark Mothersbaugh’s 30,000+ postcard artworks.
    • Games + Lounge on the Rooftop!

    I’m a sucker for rooftop lounges. Being up there and seeing the lights of the city is always special. So combine a rooftop with local artists and it has all the makings of a perfect night out in Austin.

    This event showcases a group of local artists each month. They have established artists, as well as up and coming talent in the city. There’s everything from paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry and multimedia. There’s a little something for everyone here!

    They’ll have a DJ playing music all night, so stop by to see some of the talent Austin has to offer!
