    Join Ley Line and local artists on a musical journey around the world! Come prepared to sing, dance, create, learn, listen and play instruments as we explore music, rhythm and movement from Brazil, Latin America, West Africa and the United States!

      Republic Square is excited to announce their first FREE fitness series at the square. The series kicks off May 7th with free classes every Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday throughout the month. All classes begin at 6:30pm.

      -Mondays: Find your inner wild with free yoga by Wild Heart Yoga! (May 7th, 14th, & 21st)

      -Tuesdays: Show your strength with free rowing and circuit training by Rō Fitness! (May 8th, 15th, 22nd, & 29th)

      -Wednesdays: Go Beyond the Barre with free classes by barre3! (May 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th)

      May is National Physical Fitness month – help us celebrate in Austin style. Child-friendly activities will be provided each night, and all classes are free. We can’t wait to see you at the square!

        Jonathan “Jelly” Ellington is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter based in Austin, TX by way of the mountains of Asheville, NC. His vocals are smooth and soulful with an edgy guitar style, chiming in elements of raw and expressive blues-based rocknroll. Jelly has developed a reputation for exciting and untamed live performances, and has shared the stage and recorded with Grammy Award-winning artists. He has been making his mark on the Austin scene, voted Top 10 “Best Guitarist” in 2018 Austin Chronicle Austin Music Awards. Jelly released his debut album All In and is currently taking the country by storm on tour supporting the release.

          Lemonade Day is coming to Austin on Saturday, May 5th! Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches kids how to start, own and operate their very own business – a lemonade stand. Anyone and everyone can be involved in Lemonade Day, though children operating their own Lemonade Day Businesses should be between school age and 18 years of age. Participants will have access to a host of resources, including mentors, investors, business partners and customers.

          Fast Facts about Lemonade Day:
          – The average profit per Lemonade Day stand in 2017 was $224 with many earning more.
          – To-date, Lemonade Day has spread to over 67 cities in 23 states and three countries and encourages kids to learn about entrepreneurism through the experience.
          -Once a participant earns enough to cover the cost of expenses, just like in real life, they are able to keep their profits.
          – Lemonade Day encourages kids to spend some, save some and share some of their earnings—teaching additional lessons in money management and social responsibility.

            THE SANDLOT 25th Anniversary Screening at the Texas Playboys’ sandlot presented by by The Rolling Roadshow

            It’s no joke; THE SANDLOT first hit theaters 25 years ago this weekend, on April 1, 1993. To celebrate, we’re hosting an outdoor screening at Austin’s own (and only) actual sandlot venue, The Long Time, and we’re bringing in all sorts of extra fun to make it an experience like no other.

            Admission to this event will include
            A “Meet the Beast” photo booth
            Food Trucks featuring hot dogs and other classic baseball fare
            Pop Up Bars with beer, wine and more available for purchase
            Live Music before the movie
            An Amateur Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby contest

              Inherit Austin’s 16th Annual Egg-stravaganza returns to the beautiful French Legation on March 24. This year’s family-friendly event includes the traditional egg hunt, along with an egg roll, cascarones, music, and more.                 Family fun is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Y at the Park: Family Play Day! Kids will enjoy age-appropriate booths and games alongside their parents. Families will also get to participate in the Family Fun 1K Challenge/walk through Mueller Lake Park!

                In addition to learning about YMCA programs, kids can jump from activity booth to activity booth (there will be over 15 booths to explore) learning about Summer Camp, Project SAFE, Early Learning Readiness, and more!
