    The winter triad of Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces begins on the shortest day of the year, December 21st. With no fire element in this trio to provide ‘outside’ warmth, we are given the gift of staying inside, going inward, reflecting on our lives, and the paths we are on.

    The winter signs are associated with the regions of the body nearest to the earth: our base. By strengthening our mountain climbers, hundreds, and banana poses, we provide a solid foundation for walking with purpose through the year ahead.

    Meet Celeste
    With Aquarius as her moon sign, the betterment of individuals and humanity comes to Celeste naturally. Growing up in a culture where astrology was considered the “norm”, it resonated with her from an early age. In this unique monthly program, Celeste weaves together her experience as a Pilates teacher with her passion for Astrology.

      Self defense is what every woman and girl needs to know. In this one day workshop, participants will learn the first kajukenbo and kung fu self defense techniques. Kajukenbo blends the “most lethal” aspects of karate, judo, jiu jitsu, Chinese kenpo, and kung fu.

      You can expect partner work and close personal contact to simulate real life situations, but all participants are responsible and supported in setting their own limits and level of comfort. The confidence you will gain from this course alone is worth the price of admission.

      Girls should be at least 10 years old and mature enough to handle adult subject matter. Recommended attire: workout clothes.

        Class will start with partner assisted yoga where you will both experience hands-on adjustments that make each posture more enjoyable followed by a step-by-step partner massage tutorial! You’ll not only learn ways to help one another feel good but you’ll also leave feeling more relaxed and connected.

        Anna is a Senior Prajna Yoga teacher and movement educator who has been teaching at Castle Hill since 2012. Through curiosity, mindfulness and movement she teaches students to become more grounded and aware of the inner workings of their body and mind.

Nikki DaVaughn from Fat Bottom Cabaret and Erica Nix, Austin’s “Body Positive Ambassador” have been mashing their brains together to make movement classes MORE INCLUSIVE and MORE FUN! Each will take turns teaching their favorite dance moves and showing modifications throughout the class simultaneously so you don’t miss a beat!

          Nikki has you covered with a lower impact array of songs featuring Beyonce and more booty shakin’. Erica brings more intensity with an 80/90’s song focus.             Improve your movement and balance in everyday life using core activation and stabilization. In this thoughtful workshop, you will learn proper balancing warm-ups and techniques for staying confidently in single-legged postures. Erin will demonstrate which muscle groups apply to different planes of movement. Expect specific body awareness meditation and a vinyasa flow warm-up.

            Erin Feil is a 500 RYT level yoga teacher and has lived in Austin for over 20 years. Appropriate for all levels of practitioner, Erin’s classes are full of laughter and learning. She has a deep affection for the outdoors and is an avid camper, hiker, and adventurer!

This class is a fusion of two Equinox class favorites, 25-minutes of barre by Nikki Jensen followed by 25-minutes of Pilates by Melissa Gatto.                   Whether you’re getting ready for a fitness class, a personal workout, or after a long day of sitting- this workshop is for you! The goal of this workshop is to give you the tools to properly activate and mobilize the most commonly underactive muscles.                   This native Austinite has competed in sporting events at a national level and accomplished a personal goal of losing 100 pounds. But his biggest achievements in life thus far has been obtaining the NASM Personal Trainer Certification and helping people achieve their fitness goals.

                    This workshop is a gentle introductory-level exploration of inversions and how to safely execute them. Inversions have many benefits, including boosting your circulation and vascular system, lymphatic system, as well as building core and upper body strength, and balance. Bonus: an increase in confidence and gain a new perspective!

                    Try this 90-minute workshop and discover the inversion practice that is best suited for you! Summer will discuss the foundations to achieve the approachable inversions like down dog and standing forward folds, as well as more advanced versions like shoulder stand, headstand, and handstands.
