The Mueller Farmer’s Market is one of my favorite markets in Austin.  The location, layout, and vendors make it all work.  Today will start off pretty chilly so bundle up, but be ready for the sun to eventually come out and make it a great day for strolling around the market getting the freshest goods in town.

Farmer’s Markets are a great way to support local businesses while getting some of the best goods that Austin has to offer, a real win win for everyone!

Here is the special write up on today’s market:

I’ve always had good luck at the Triangle Farmer’s Market since it’s the perfect size and has a great assortment of vendors.  Tonight, they are doing a special holiday market to help get you ready for the holiday’s!

Aside from their regular vendors, they are going to host artisans from the Sunset Valley Artisan Market and feature their local and handmade gifts.

The holiday market is also going to have special tastings at the Taste the Place tent as well as a cooking demo with Shefaly Ruvali of Shef’s Kitchen.  The demo will take place from 5:00-6:00 and will give you some Indian style cooking ideas.

This 80 degree weather is perfect for farmer’s markets, but not for getting in the holiday spirit!

        When: today, December 19th

        Time: 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

We are 100 days into 2011! Wow, it goes by quickly!

It’s been a while since I blogged on a good farmer’s market, and I love a good farmer’s market. Buying fresh, local, home-grown goods always makes me feel so healthy. There’s something about walking around from booth to booth, checking out different things, that just makes me feel like I’m getting a little taste of everything Austin has to offer.

They have just about everything at Steiner Ranch — fruits, vegetables, cookies, bread, barbecue, and a few personal favorites,
salsa and snow cones! With the weather heating up, it’s almost officially snow-cone season, and I’ve been looking forward to it for months. You can also get more than just fresh food, including stuff like organic soap, plants, jewelry and more.

This is a great way to support local farmers and get some local goods for the week!
