We know that improving health in our communities requires collaborative work with partners outside of our organizations, disciplines, silos, sectors, and comfort zones. Cross-sector work is key to preventing chronic disease, addressing social determinants of health, improving health equity, and receiving the greatest value from our health dollars. We also know that cross-sector collaboration can be difficult. But we believe Texas is up to the challenge. At this year’s Healthier Texas Summit, we will hear stories and enter into conversations not only about our collaboration successes, but also about where it gets hard, and how challenges can be resolved, so we can more fully unite for a Healthier Texas.

Join us for our free community health series for seniors. Topics include proven methods for preventing age-related diseases (1/15/19), holistic heart health for seniors (2/19/19), natural prevention and treatment for arthritis (3/19/19) and effective & natural treatment of urinary incontinence and urgency (4/16/19)

One of the biggest challenges for me is finding healthy food, fast and on the go. Local Austin company Greengos is eliminating that excuse from my playbook!

          1240178_408619842570784_1076515043_n

Admittedly, I am not a huge salad person, but maybe it’s because I haven’t had many ‘good’ salads! The salads at Greengos salads are jam packed with goodness that makes you feel great about lunch (or dinner) and taste delicious. They offer a variety of salads, so they’re perfect for someone like me who is still learning what they like in a salad. Bonus points for them as they source locally as much as possible.

Their Grand Opening Celebration is today from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with free food and beverages!

They recently opened their first store near the UT campus, and they have a Mueller location coming soon!

Giveaway: ‘share’ this post & ‘like’ them on Facebook to be entered to win a free salad or wrap from Greengos.
