    About E.T. the Extra Terrestrial
It’s a true classic that’s got everything: An alien, a precious young Drew Barrymore, friendship, and an iconic music score.
As Elliott discovers a lost alien hidden in his family’s tool shed, his only interest is to befriend, take care of, and protect E.T. While things escalate, Elliott’s connection to E.T. branches into a psychological and metaphysical world. A triumphant story of friendship, childhood, and adventure, E.T. has been found its way into the hearts of millions.

Centrally located in Mueller, a mixed-use development in north central Austin, Lake Park is an ideal spot for kids of all ages as the park offers a multitude of options for playing and exploring.

    Options, Options, Options

When you or your kids need a park break, there are plenty of other options for fun within walking distance. The Thinkery is a great choice if you have a couple of extra hours, or head over to Lake Park Amphitheater, which is located close-by and hosts many events throughout the year. If you need to feed your sweet tooth, the newly-opened Bribery Bakery can satisfy your sugar craving. If you want to picnic but forgot to bring the food, you may find something delectable at the Mueller Trailer Eats Food Court close to the Browning Hangar.

It’s no secret that I love Torchy’s. Truth be told, I often go there just to order queso and guacamole because it’s my ultimate guilty pleasure. I recently ordered off their secret menu for the first time and let’s just say I will never look at Torchy’s the same way again.

As I called in my order, I was sure I would get laughed at or have the person on the other end reply with, “Umm… I’ve never heard of that.” Or even worse, “Umm… you’re not allowed to order that, you’re not in the club.” Thankfully, it went as smoothly as my normal queso order.

As I went to pick up my order, I could hardly control my excitement; I had officially ordered off the secret menu… I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave me a sticker for my solid detective work. Unwrapping the Ace of Spades amazingness, I couldn’t Instagram fast enough. The picture didn’t really do it justice, so just take my word for it, or better yet, try one yourself!

Once I instagrammed the photo I had many, many people asking about the details of the sacred menu. Thanks to emails from blog followers and reddit, I was able to come up with ‘The Secret Menu.’

Behold The Torchy’s Taco Secret Menu:

JACK OF CLUBS – a fried egg, potatoes, black beans, crips corn tortilla strips, shredded cheese, cilantro, sour cream and Diablo. Served on a flour tortilla.

ACE OF SPADES- a jalapeno sausage link, grilled brisket, a fried egg, green chile queso, cilantro, cotija cheese, sour cream and Diablo. Served on a flour tortilla.

TRAILER PARK HILLBILLY STYLE – fried chicken, chorizo, chopped bacon, green chiles, green chile queso, shredded cheese, pico de gallo, pablano ranch on the side. Served on a flour tortilla.

MAD COW- fajita beef, black beans, grilled corn, jack cheese, creamy chipotle and cilantro. Served on a flour tortilla.

THE HIPSTER- panko fried tuna, with green chilies, chopped bacon, black bean relish, cotija cheese, avocado sauce, cilantro and a wedge of lime. Served on a flour tortilla.

THE MADATOR- chopped brisket, grilled jalapeno, pickled onions, jack cheese, avocado, sour cream and cilantro. Served with tomatillo sauce on a crisp corn tortilla wrapped in a flour tortilla.

GREEN CHILE PORK MISSIONARY STYLE- green chile pork, pickled onions, guacamole, jack cheese, cilantro, creamy chipotle on a crisp corn tortilla inside of a flour tortilla

Free food and free beer have a way of making everything better. My computer decided to crash yesterday afternoon, so I could use both. As you can imagine, having a functioning computer is pretty much an essential when it comes to writing a blog, so bear with me the next few days while I sort this out.

Anyway, the only thing better than Torchy’s Tacos on a normal day is free Torchy’s Tacos. It’s simply one of the best taco places in town, and this city takes its tacos seriously. If you haven’t been, go.

Getting free tacos would have been enough for me, but adding beer is a nice touch. There really is no good reason not to go to this.

Here’s to free food and free beers!

I think I died and went to Taco Heaven. I have been in Austin for over 5 years and always heard about this mythical Torchy’s Tacos, but it was not until I started the blog that I forced myself to actually try one.

I always thought tacos were all pretty much the same. Why do people go almost crazy for them, like there is a bizarre addiction? Now, I understand, it is definitely one of those places you go one time and end up craving it constantly, like a bad habit.

I had the Trailer Park Tacos, extra trashy and never looked back. I would try something else, but I can’t even think of what more one could want from a Taco, so I keep going back to what I know and love. Where do I even start with the queso, as it surely some of the best in town, no question. Just writing this has convinced me that it is going to be a Torchy’s Night.

I can’t even put into words how great they are, and what’s awesome is that you can go there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and no matter what they won’t disappoint.
