    About Anna
Anna is a Senior Prajna Yoga teacher and movement educator who has been teaching at Castle Hill since 2012. Through curiosity, mindfulness and movement she teaches students to become more grounded and aware of the inner workings of their body and mind.

      Gentle and Restorative Therapeutic Yoga

It’s not only the mind that needs to grieve, it’s the body as well. Yoga integrates body, mind, and spirit. Grief, our natural response to loss, creates tension not only in the mind, but in the nervous system and the muscles that hold us. This gentle, restorative, and trauma-informed yoga class offers the space for letting go of tension in the body, and in turn, creating greater ease within the mind. Feel a sense of community without having to speak a word, feel physically and emotionally supported, gain a sense of control, peace and acceptance in the aftermath of loss.

No prior yoga experience is necessary to participate in this group. Scholarships available.

      Best Yoga Studios in Austin

Yoga combines exercise with spiritual practice and has evolved into multiple types. You can opt for spiritual, more meditative yoga to clear your mind and become more aware of oneself; hot yoga, which helps you detox and get that perfect glow; and even Bootcamp-style yoga classes in heated spaces, with infrared, weights and more Pilates built in.

Below you’ll find some of our favorite studios in Austin.

      Wanderlust Domain

      Wanderlust

Wanderlust is more than just a yoga studio, it’s our favorite yoga studio. They have retreats, workshops, teacher training, and more. With two locations, Downtown and the Domain, they offer multiple styles of yoga including Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Technique, classes with live music, and our pick: YoStrong.

YoStrong is a heated yoga class (between 90-98 degrees) that integrates weight training and athletic conditioning. Another good one is the Candlelight Vinyasa. This is the perfect end to a long day—release toxins in a 84-89 degree room, and surrender into some extra relaxation. Inside the Wanderlust space you will find two studios, a retail boutique. and Blenders and Bowls, an organic cafe with acai bowls and smoothies.

Locations: Downtown at 4th and Brazos (same building as Brazos Hall), and the Domain next to American Eagle

Favorite Instructors: Gustavo (He also teaches at SoulCycle just a block away. His YoStrong and Power classes are so uplifting, and always have amazing music!), Lizzie B (Great for YoStrong, mainly at the Domain), Kaley (also an Ayurvedic wellness coach), Diana (She’s doing a Greece Yoga retreat in August!)

Locally owned and locally beloved Castle Hill Fitness has been around for decades and has two locations that inspire serious dedication in their members—12th and Lamar and off 360 and Westlake Drive. Nails:

        Coated

Coated (S Lamar) – This family run business is in the middle of trendy Lamar Union amidst new bars, restaurants, and the famous Alamo Drafthouse. The owner, Rebecca Risha, identified issues within the nail salon industry such as lost reservations, longer than normal wait times with no communication from staff, customers moving around from chair to chair following the tech, dirty tools and pedicure bowls, etc. and decided to fix it.

Coated, which has clean air, in-salon and online reservations, two-way-text capabilities to add-on or change services, no wait time when you show up for your reservation, certified staff, no drills, and a one-chair mindset is where all services focus around the guest. This upscale nail salon is also still incredibly affordable and sells passes to save on the manicures and pedicures you love. It also has a space large enough for big parties! Plus, every guest is offered complimentary beer, wine, or mimosas.

Vino Vinyasa classes bring together vinyasa-based yoga and fun wine facts through creative yoga poses. Each hour long educational class ends with a comparative wine tasting of Fall Creek’s wines, inviting you to mindfully taste what’s in your glass while applying what you learned through the poses.

Come flow in the shade outside next to the vines in Driftwood (right across from The Salt Lick). If the weather does not agree, we can move class indoors to the Barrel Room.

Fall Creek Vineyards was conceived through worldly inspiration, and while distinctly Texan in terroir, their wines are crafted with world-class skill and vision.
