It’s no surprise by now—Halloween is going to look a little bit different this year. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the tricks, treats, and terror! We’ve found a mix of adult and all-ages frightening festivities taking place all around Austin. Grab your mask and your Halloween crew, and let’s get spooky!

South Congress – Candy and Cocktail Crawl

Head on over to South Congress Ave. for their Candy & Cocktail Crawl for some socially distanced Halloween fun. Stop by Jo’s South Congress, Hotel San José, Joann’s Fine Foods, Perla’s and June’s, for spooky specials and wicked sweets. Hotel San José will be serving up a deadly blood orange Morgue-a-rita, and Jo’s will take the sweet side with their Ruby Dead Grapefruit Punch and a Monster Mashup for the kids.

Central Machine Works – Spooky Soiree

Central Machine Works is hosting a spooky soiree on Halloween night from 5-11 p.m. Expect themed decorations, dark and moody music, and of course food and drink specials, not to mention their first-ever costume contest! In true social distancing fashion, participants will need to utilize and incorporate a mask into their costume. The winning, most creative, costume will get their tab covered by CMW!

Devil May Care – The Surrealist Ball 

Escape the ordinary with a captivating dinner experience shrouded in myth and intrigue. Step into a lavish evening inspired by the infamous 1972 Rothschild’s Surrealist Ball. Devil May Care invites you to explore your deepest desires with a night that’s both wildly bizarre and seductively pleasurable. Black tie, long dresses, and surrealist heads. Creativity, madness, and over-indulgence are strongly encouraged.

Rowing Dock – Full Moon Paddle

Not into going door-to-door this year? How about kayak-to-kayak? Rowing Dock welcomes people of all ages to their on-the-water, socially distanced trick-or-treat experience, followed by a spooky full moon paddle! There will be a DJ busting out spooky tunes, a photo booth, costume contest, and food and drinks on land!

Irene’s – Mask-uerade Drag Brunch

Drag brunch is back again at Irene’s! Socially distant, but back just in time for Halloween. Wear your best mask to their mask-uerade brunch, and they’ll have prizes for the three best dressed. They won’t be offering walk-ins or standing room, so be sure to grab your tickets in advance.

The Arboretum – Candy Crawl

It’s going to be an afternoon of safe Halloween fun at The Arboretum! Take part in center-wide trick-or-treating and enjoy a take home craft, balloon twisters, and more.

The Globe Halloween Night Drive-In

Join The Globe Drive-In Theater for their spooky screenings of a Halloween films. Showing first at 7:10 p.m. is Halloweentown, followed by Hocus Pocus at 9:05 p.m. Their late night showings start at 11:15 with Cabin In The Woods, followed up with House Of 1000 Corpses at 12:45 a.m.

Native Hotel – Mesmerize Halloween 

Looking for a safe way to celebrate spooky season?! Mesmerize is hosting a very Mesmerize Halloween at Native Hostel. They’re introducing a brand new installation in addition to the current gallery, with spooky music experience inside the gallery and a live DJ set at Native Hostel’s bar. Drink specials on deck.

Doc’s Drive-In Theater – The Addams Family, Hocus Pocus, and Halloween

Doc’s Drive-In Theater is kicking of Halloween night starting with their showing of The Addams Family at 7:15 p.m. Hocus Pocus starts soon after that at 7:45 and they’ll be ending the night with at 10:30 with a Halloween favorite- Halloween!

Berkeley Farm – Halloween Gathering

Head over to Berkeley Farm for a family-friendly (and socially distanced) Halloween Gathering!
