Everything is probably not going to get magically wonderful at the start of 2021. However, there is no harm in setting an intention to leave 2020 in the rearview mirror—and do something bold to help you start fresh.

The Polar Bear Plunge is a global tradition where you jump in a body of water on New Year’s Day. We like to think of it as a cleansing of the soul to start the new year. Luckily for us, many years the the temperature outside is often warmer than the water. Most Austinites flock to Barton Springs which stays a constant 68 degrees throughout the year to take the plunge. Sadly, this year’s organized event at Barton Springs was canceled. So here’s the good news—any body of water will work! All you need to do is take the plunge and cleanse yourself. You’ll feel refreshed! You’ll feel different! Let this be the start of something new.
