If you are looking for a way to honor the first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, this event will be an especially meaningful way to mark the 20th anniversary.

The Memorial Tower Climb at Circuit of the Americas is open to all ages and all fitness levels who would like to climb the COTA Tower. Participants will climb the stairs to the observation deck and back down four times to mimic the number of floors (110) in both Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Any amount of climbing is highly encouraged—a person can climb the COTA Tower once or as many times as they want.

Registration is $30 and includes the COTA Memorial Tower Climb plus a limited-edition poster memorializing the event. All proceeds benefit the Samaritan Center of Austin, a nonprofit organization that provides support services for veterans, first responders, military, and their families.

In her previous life, Kristy was an uninspired realtor who was feeling a little bit bored with her day to day. So on January 1, 2010, she made a New Year’s resolution to write about one thing to do each day in her beloved city of Austin, Texas. And thus, 365 Things Austin was born.
