As this very fluid situation continues to change the way our city operates on a daily basis, restaurants have just been given the green light by the state to sell products from their supply chains directly to consumers. This will hopefully create a new revenue stream for businesses and take some pressure off local grocery stores. Products they are authorized to sell include packaged meat, fruit and vegetables, and dry goods.

You’ll be able to purchase this stuff at restaurants with drive-thru, delivery, pick-up, and curbside service.

“A vital part of our COVID-19 response is to ensure that there are readily available supplies of food and resources, whether that is at grocery stores or, in this case, restaurants,” said Governor Abbott in the announcement. “This guidance gives Texans another easily accessible option to buy the food they need to support their families.”
