Tonight, Heard Presents is hosting a live stream benefit called Black Everythang Matters with a lineup of all Austin-based Black artists curated and hosted by Chaka Mandla of Riders Against The Storm.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has sidelined many artists (specifically those of color) from their constant climate of touring, artists are increasingly turning to livestreams to engage with the music community during uncertain times. The announcement of the benefit livestream comes following the continued nationwide Black Lives Matter protests, the local push for a Black Live Music Fund, and the vote to form a systemic racism working group by the Austin Music Commission as institutions continue to address systemic racism.
DAWA is a safety net for people of color who are experiencing a short term life crisis. More specifically, people of color who are: musicians, artists, social workers, teachers, healing practitioners, and service industry workers.

One hundred percent of proceeds will benefit the DAWA Fund and provide to Austin based people of color who are experiencing financial difficulties. Donate right here!

When: Thursday, August 6th
