There’s a new burger joint in town that is sure to join the ranks of other famous burgers in Austin. Started by a team of three under the age of 23, and fulfilling what they say is a lifelong dream, Buddy’s Burger is modern, spacious, and clean with a real Texas feel. And as we dined, we quickly bonded with the staff—they felt like old college buddies.

I’ve been in Austin for the better half of two decades now, and in that time I’ve probably eaten most of the burgers this town has to offer. Buddy’s is up there with the best of them.

Just so you know what you’re getting into: Buddy’s is a fast-casual concept, you can dine-in, on their patio, or do drive-thru. Their burgers are made with 100% angus beef that has never been frozen and they’re hand rolled each day. The quality of the meat was what set the burgers apart for me. They offer a spicy and regular option, and my friend and I tried both. The spicy has some kick but it was definitely manageable and the seasoned fries nicely complimented the meal. They also have hand-squeezed lemonade, which is always nice on a summer day.

It’s not easy, but try to save some room for the Oreo shake. I slurped down the whole thing and have zero regrets!
