Tucked in a small lot off of South First Street, the Bombay Dhaba food truck serves up traditional Indian cuisine with a ton of flavor. Chef/owner Prabhakar Reddy tackles the regional favorites that we all know and love, but calling this “typical” Indian food would be selling it short. Reddy packs every dish, including the rice, with loads of aromatics.

Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, and Samosa from Bombay Dhaba Austin.

As far as what to order, go with your gut or branch out and try something more adventurous. I did the former on this visit and ordered a few of my favorites. Samosas filled with potatoes and peas, served with a vibrant green mint chutney and tamarind dipping sauce. For entrees, I went with Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer, both were excellent, the dishes felt familiar but with a new delicious twist.

Don’t forget the roti.
