There’s nothing that fancy about this spot; it’s just a great place to grab a gyro. The unassuming yellow food truck sits in a gas station parking lot on the corner of Oltorf and South First Street. There’s a single picnic table, covered by an awning, should you choose to dine in—otherwise, their website makes it easy to grab and go.
The gyro here is fresh and stuffed to the brim of a fluffy pita with shredded lettuce, freshly diced tomato and cucumbers, and The Halal Gurus‘ “signature white sauce,” which tastes like tzatziki and ranch had a delicious sauce-baby. The wrap is about the size of a Chipotle burrito, and priced at nine bucks—it’s hard to beat.
