Jim Kamas, Texas A&M Assistant Professor & Extension Specialist, Pomology & Viticulture, and Texas Pierce’s Disease Program Outreach Coordinator, Texas AgriLife Extension, presents “The 13th Annual Fruits, Nuts, and Berries Workshop.”
Join us for this very popular workshop on fruits, nuts, and berries. Jim covers all aspects of home orchard production, from variety selection to pruning and harvesting. He also demonstrates pruning in our Natural Gardener orchard. He is our Central Texas specialist, having studied and worked in horticulture since the late 1970’s. Jim Kamas is also the author of the newly released Growing Grapes in Texas: Commercial Vineyard to Backyard Vine, published by Texas A&M Press. This book, as well as his previous title Texas Peach Handbook, will be available for sale and for signing. There is so much information to cover and Jim is so generous with his time: this class is at least two hours long.
Classes begin at 10am and are about 1 hour long, except where noted. Classes are subject to change. Please call first to confirm. Classes are held outdoors under an open air canopy (“The Revival Tent”) – please dress for the weather. Arrive early for best seating. You are welcome to bring your own chair. If possible, please park on Bell Drive, adjacent to the tent.
If you would like sign language interpretation, please contact
