In this workshop at Succulent Native on S. Lamar, guests will learn about succulent and cactus arrangements and care. Each attendee will create their own small plant arrangement with fun toppings including cholla wood, moss, and rocks. Q&A welcome at the end of every class!

January 6th

KVN Ft. Jane Leo And Flora & Fawna

KVN (pronounced Kevin) is an indie-pop supergroup composed of Austin-based artists – DOSSEY, Primo the Alien, and Lady Heartwing. Having each already made a name for themselves both locally and internationally, these women as songwriters, producers, and performers deliver high-energy, harmony-driven pop and dance music. Catch KVN along with Jane Leo and Flora & Fawna at Mohawk at 7 p.m.

Citrus With A Texas Twist

Head to the Central Market on N. Lamar for this cooking class featuring a menu of citrusy and delicious dishes filled with the flavors of Texas. You’ll create a homemade vinaigrette; sear scallops to perfection; create our own Texas version of a classic French sauce; and  make the most of ruby red grapefruit. At the end of class, you’ll sit down to enjoy the results of your efforts. Class starts at 6:30 p.m.

A Night of Irish Comedy & Storytelling With Dave Nihill

Leaving Dublin, Ireland where he was born and raised until the age of 22, Dave Nihill got drunk on travel and never quite hit sobriety of it. He has lived and worked in twelve countries and visited over seventy. His shows draw on his wide travels, cultural observations, attempts at language study, (occasional) international drinking session(s) and being a mildly confused immigrant in the US.

The Emo Night Tour

Bug Prom At The Belmont

Your are hereby, so cordially invited to the most electrifying event in the history of the animal kingdom thus far — Capyac’s Bug Prom, taking place at the Belmont. This is an insect winter formal, and you are expected to adhere to their very strict dress code: formal and/or insect attire. Preferably both. Suits, gowns, tuxedos, robes, pincers, compound eyes, antennae, wings, claws, stingers. You get the idea.

Slide In The DMs

Slide in the DMs is cringe comedy in its purest form. Every third Saturday of the month at Fallout Theater at 10 p.m., local stand-up stars share some of the wildest messages they’ve ever received online and a rotating cast of talented improvisers make comedy gold out of it.


January 16th

The Roosevelt Room’s Master Class Series – Home Bartending 101

Learn how to craft delicious cocktails like the pros with this two-hour introductory course covering all of the cocktail basics, led by members of The Roosevelt Room’s talented bar staff. Attendees will learn the tools of the trade, and how to properly measure, shake, stir, strain, and garnish. Each attendee will also get to enjoy three cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, all while learning a brief history of the drinks being made.

Drag Brunch Ft. Rhonda. Jewels 

Join Irene’s for their monthly Drag Brunch hosted by Rhonda Jewels! The show will run from 12-2 p.m. and is available by reservation only. Big Ass Social Happy Hour #BASHH

BASHH is Austin’s relaxed mixer at Austin Beerkworks filled mostly with tech nerds and operations folks that may be introverts but are going to suck it up for a few hours for networking purposes. The ties come off a 6:00 pm, and there are no speakers or panels, no lame pitches, no egos; all are welcomed to relax and have happy hours!

The Cathedral January Open House

New Moon Tea + Intention Setting

Gentle movement at Wild Heart Yoga, with guided meditation and cosmic musings in this hour to connect with this time of divine rest. Join Reny for a cosmically fueled experience aligned with the energies of the new moon.
