ATX Chamber Music and Jazz, Austin’s newest cultural organization, is combining  performances by world-renowned classical and jazz musicians with luxury social experiences that engage and connect audiences beyond the concert hall.

In its inaugural weekend, they sold out back-to-back performances with Grammy-Award-winning ensemble Time For Three at Stateside at the Paramount and The Pershing. Now, ATX Music is gearing up for an incredible night of chamber music, fine wine, and French bites in A Trip to Burgundy with Jean-Yves Thibaudet featuring Ensemble ATX on Dec. 2 at The Mansion.

For more than three decades, Thibaudet has performed worldwide, recorded more than 50 albums, and built a reputation as one of the world’s finest contemporary pianists. A recording powerhouse, Thibaudet appears on more than 70 albums and six film scores, including the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice

On Dec.2, Thibaudet will be joined by Ensemble ATX, the resident ensemble of ATX Music. One of the nation’s most exclusive chamber music societies, the ensemble includes that evening, New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Frank Huang, founding violist of the Dover Quartet, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, international cello soloist and professor at the Colburn School, Clive Greensmith, pianist and Co-Artistic Director of ATX Music, Anna Petrova, and violinist and CEO and Co-Artistic Director of ATX Music, Geoffrey Herd.

Rather than a rushed gin and tonic at intermission with no time to speak and mingle, audiences can expect a glamorous evening of exceptional music, fine wines, curated charcuteries, and an immersive romantic environment. Prior to the concert, The Wine & Food Foundation will provide expert sommeliers to guide guests through the luxurious world of Burgundy wines at an exclusive pre-concert Burgundy Tasting. Fine wines will then be available for purchase by the glass throughout the evening.

“We want our guests to feel that they have been immersed into an alternate reality when they enter the concert hall, as if they had become part of an opera scene,” Co-Artistic Director Anna Petrova explains.

“We are honored to work with Wild Sky Events to transform The Mansion into a high-end, dimly lit Parisian lounge mixed with a pristine concert hall. Grab your passport; this is a trip to Burgundy that you won’t want to miss!”

Aside from events like these, ATX Music is committed to making music accessible to all. To this aim, the artists of ATX Music regularly visit schools, youth, and retirement centers, and hospitals, to ensure our entire community can experience great music.
