Monday, April 8th, 2024, is going to be a crazy day in Austin. A total solar eclipse will be visible throughout North America and Austin and its surrounding areas are in the path of totality. The partial eclipse begins at 12:17 p.m. and the total eclipse (when it’s safe to actually look up without the special glasses) at 1:36 p.m. and last for two minutes. The whole phenomenon will be over at 2:58 p.m. We’ve rounded up some of the more unique options to view the big moment around town!
Rooftop Eclipse Viewing, Yoga, & Pickleball
We’ve teamed up with Texas Ranchers l to host a rooftop eclipse viewing party with unobstructed views of totality. Include for guests are: eclipse viewing glasses, three hours of open pickleball play at Austin Pickle Ranch, guided yoga, food and refreshments, a competition, and giveaways. The party runs from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on April 8th, and even if you’re not into pickleball, this will be one of the best places to view the eclipse from Downtown Austin!

Head to Mozart’s Coffee for a free Total Eclipse Extravaganza! You can view the eclipse from their lakeside property or on the lake with one of their paddle board rentals. There will be a live band, aerialists performances, specialty drinks and snacks, Tesla Cyber trucks on display, and exclusive merchandise.
