9. Eeyore’s 54th Birthday Party

What: This is an Austin tradition like no other, Eeyore’s Birthday. For the 53rd time the city will pay tribute to the ever-so-famous and dependably pessimistic character from Winnie-the-Pooh. This festival is basically the epicenter of the Keep Austin Weird movement. In fact, weird doesn’t even begin to describe this delightful event. Picture hundreds of people in costume dancing, sitting in drum circles, and running around maypoles to celebrate the fictional birthday of a fictional donkey. Needless to say, be sure to wear a costume. It’s kind of like the city’s annual Woodstock.

When: April 29th

Location: Pease Park
