More than ever before, as the weather warms up and spring hits in Austin, we will be looking for outdoor activities that are safe, affordable, and take us back to the beforetimes when we had those worry-free good days. This year we have a novel idea for you Central Texans—rugby! Yes, rugby is gonna be our new thing. AG Rugby is a professional rugby team based right here in our very own town. As a proud member of Major League Rugby, AG has recruited players from all over the world and will play their home games at Bold Stadium at Circuit of the Americas.
More than just a rugby match, this is an affordable (single match tickets run just $5-20!) and family friendly experience that will feature theme nights, activities, kids rides, and live music. Safety is the top priority so they will maintain the cities ordinance of 50 percent and socially distant pods, until otherwise allowed. The first match of the season on March 20 will feature a laser light show and Grammy Award-winning DJ Paul Oakenfold!
The best thing about being an AG Rugby fan is that you can go all in on the experience for a very reasonable price. Their membership, which is like being a season ticket holder, gets you into all eight home matches, a prime seat location, preferred parking, a designated entrance, exclusive events, and you get priority status for play-off matches! You also get 10 percent off at the team shop. All of that is just $120 for adults and $60 for youth 17 and under. That is so much less than any other fan experience on the market and a great way for the family to bond through a shared experience that’s unlike anything else you’ve tried.
