Aye Carranza quietly opened last week in the Celis Brewing parking lot, located off 183 and Metric Blvd. The food trailer is owned and managed by chefs/partners Michael Carranza and John Gocong, and specializes in Sinaloan-style seafood. They also serve delicious traditional tacos, dips, and nachos. The entire menu is gluten free, including their amazing fried shrimp sourced locally from Minamoto Wholesale and other premium seafood purveyors.

Everything we tried was excellent, but highlights included the Carnitas Taco with crispy bits of pork complimenting a perfectly crispy and just a tad chewy, homemade corn tortilla shell. ALL of the shrimp dishes were excellent, but the Shrimp Burger was a surprising favorite. A flavorful shrimp patty sits between two halves of a toasty bun with shredded butter lettuce, tomato, and a pineapple gastrique.

We always opt for queso, but I highly recommend the chorizo bean dip. It’s one of the partner’s family recipes and it goes great with their chips. Lastly, don’t skip on a couple of drafts from inside the brewery to pair with your meal. The addition of the food truck helps Celis operate under the recently updated 51 percent mandates, so ordering food allows patrons to sip beers on site. No complaints here on that front!
