2019 Texas Medal of Arts Awards Open Call for Nominations

Texas Cultural Trust is excited to announce that nominations for the 2019 Texas Medal of Arts Awards are now open until April 5th, 2018. This biennial program celebrates influential artists, entertainers, and art patrons of Texas through a series of events, culminating with a star-studded awards show and gala dinner, which will be held in Austin, Texas in February 2019. Since 2001, the awards have honored Texas luminaries including Eva Longoria, ZZ Top, Willie Nelson, Steve Miller, Kenny Rogers, Tommy Lee Jones, Bob Schieffer, Laura W. Bush and Robert Rodriguez, among others. Inspired by the National Endowment for the Arts’ Awards given each year by the President of the United States, the Texas Medal of Arts Awards event is intended to raise substantial visibility and financial support for arts education and arts programs throughout the state.
