5th Annual Sunshine Run

The fifth annual Sunshine Run sponsored by Silicon Lab will take place on Sunday, May 6 in the heart of downtown Austin on the certified course beginning at Vic Mathias Shores at Town Lake on 900 West Riverside Drive. Funds raised from the race will benefit Austin Sunshine Camps making a positive difference in the lives of Austin’s low-income youth.
Race activities begin at 7:30 a.m. and include a timed 10K, a timed and untimed 5K, a Kids K, and the Fastest Dog 5K. Kids are welcome to sign up for the 5K or 10K, or kids under 12 can run in the Kids K for free. Dogs entering the race with their owners for the 5K will be entered to win the “Fastest Dog in Austin” competition.
The Sunshine Run is a race for both casual runners and serious racers with its certified flat course. By entering the race, registrants can qualify for cash prizes and medals. All funds raised from registration sales go to the Austin Sunshine Camps. Additionally, walkers, runners and groups can create teams with friends, family, or coworkers for those who would like to compete amongst other teams in a friendly, competitive environment.
