Austin Museum Day

The Contemporary Austin is proud to take part in the Austin Museum Partnership‘s annual citywide cultural celebration. Along with over forty institutions around Austin, we offer engaging performances, art-making activities, artist demonstrations, docent-led tours of the exhibitions, and free admission. The next Austin Museum Day will be held from noon to 4P September 23, 2018.

FREE and open to the public!
Play like an artist this Museum Day! At the Jones Center, experiment with materials and ideas from the exhibition on view in the pop-up Art Lab, then join us for yoga and refreshments on the roof. At Laguna Gloria, be the first to check out a new interactive sculpture game made for the museum in partnership with The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture. Make a game-inspired work of art to take home, grab a bite to eat at a food truck, and enjoy an afternoon with us! Also, don’t forget to drop by Ai Weiwei’s Forever Bicycles, on view at the Waller Delta, closing this Fall.
