Austin’s New Year – Virtual Event

Austin’s New Year, the City of Austin’s official New Year’s Eve celebration, will be virtual in 2020. Presented by the Austin Convention Center, the special will feature pre-recorded performances from eight local bands recorded at iconic, local venues across the city including The Saxon Pub, The Continental Club, Cheer Up Charlies, Antone’s Night Club, and Mohawk.

Austin’s New Year is a celebration of live music culture featuring a lineup of some of the city’s most prominent and up and coming artists spanning several genres. The lineup includes:

Shakey Graves, who also earned a Billboard Top 10 hit and will perform “Look Alive” and “Family and Genus”
Parker McCollum, whose latest EP recently landed him as a Top 40 artist along with a Billboard Top 10 hit
Gina Chavez, a 12-time Austin Music Award winner and nominated for a 2020 Latin Grammy for Best Pop/Rock Album
Como Las Movies, one of Austin’s “Best Latin Bands”
Swimming With Bears, an Austin emerging indie rock band
BettySoo, a contemporary folk artist
Rob Baird, an up and coming artist who recently released, “Rob Baird Live from Arlyn Studios”
Jake Lloyd, named one of KUTX’s artist of the month this year
