Brené Brown at UT-Austin // “Daring Athletes: Embracing Courageous Leadership in the Age of Toughness”
Oct 29, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
$10
On Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Hogg Auditorium on the University of Texas at Austin campus, five-time #1 NYTimes bestselling author and UT alumna Brené Brown will be joining The Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation (CSLi) for a special event and intimate conversation. Brené Brown has spent the last 20 years studying courage, vulnerability, empathy and leadership and is considered one of the most soughtafter leadership thinkers on the globe, and CSLi is offering Austin residents and UT students, faculty and staff the special opportunity to hear Brown speak.
In a conversation with CSLi founder Daron K. Roberts, called “Daring Athletes: Embracing Courageous Leadership in the Age of Toughness, A Conversation with Brené Brown” Brené will delve into the tools that athletes can use to show up and their bravest, most authentic selves. How can athletes pierce the toughness veil? How can fans and parents create a safe space for our heroes to become more courageous leaders? These are just a couple of the questions that Dr. Brown will expand upon in this riveting discussion. This event will shift the dialogue around what it means to be a courageous athlete. Though the conversation is centered around sports leadership, Brown’s message is applicable to all students and current or future leaders beyond just athletes.
