The Capital of Texas Aerial Championships strive to provide a platform for pole and aerial artists, from novice to professional, to showcase their talent, ability, and passion for the art form while pursuing national recognition. This year we are excited to move all four days of the event to The Main Stage at Sky Candy Studios August 30th through September 2nd, 2018! Please join us in taking in the dazzling acts of amazing competitors from across the globe as they compete in divisions from novice to elite and in an array of exciting categories! The pole competition offers competitors the chance to qualify to compete in the United States Pole Sports Federation 2019 National Championships and the aerial competition has been expanded to include exciting new categories such as Elite and Aerial Storytelling.

Schedule and description of competitions:

Thursday August 30th, 7pm – Aerial Novice and Experienced divisions
These divisions include competitors on silks, hammock, trapeze, lyra, and rope. The Aerial Novice division consists of beginner to beginner-intermediate level performers with 2 or fewer years of classes / training, who haven’t been compensated for performance. The Experienced division consists of intermediate to advanced-intermediate level aerialists with 2 or more years of classes / training who have not done an average of more than 6 paid performances per year.

Friday August 31st, 7pm – Aerial Professional, Elite, Duo, and Aerial Storytelling divisions and categories
The Professional and Elite divisions include competitors on silks, hammock, trapeze, lyra, and rope. The Professional division consists of advanced level aerialists who are currently working as an aerial instructor or perform in 6+ paid performances a year. The Elite division consists of full time professionals at the national / international level and is a high level multi-apparatus division. The Aerial Storytelling division is also an open-apparatus division consisting of performers from any level whose acts focus primarily on storytelling and performance quality through aerial dance.

Saturday September 1st, 2pm – Pole Art Category
This is a large category consisting of divisions from semi-pro through professional and including juniors, men, women, masters, and doubles. Pole art concentrates on emotion through both artistry and execution.

Saturday, September 1st, 7pm – Pole Classique Category
This category encompasses divisions from amateur through elite including men, women, masters, and doubles. It is a broader category with more costuming and character, and even allows for props to be included in the act.

Sunday Sept. 2nd, 12pm – Pole Sport Category
This category is the largest and encompasses divisions amateur, professional, and elite including men, women, juniors A and B, masters 40+, masters 50+, senior, and doubles. Pole sport is a very technical division with an emphasis on technique and execution of moves.

An array of tickets and packages are available including the full weekend of shows, VIP tables, reserved seating, and of course general admission for both the full weekend of events and individual shows.
