Texas takes a lot of pride in being Texas, but what would Austin’s food & culture scene be without our neighbors to the south?
To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, La Condesa’s Executive Chef Rick Lopez is bringing the gang back together — Chef Aaron Bludorn (former Executive Chef of Café Boulud, Netflix’s The Final Table, Michelin Guide) and Chef Drake Leonards (Executive Chef-Partner of Eunice, former Executive Chef La Provence). All veterans of the notorious Café Boulud in NYC, the boys are reuniting in Austin, Texas to bring the party to Malverde, the private event space above the James Beard ‘Best New Restaurant’-nominated La Condesa.
The party starts at 6pm, featuring mezcal 101 + pours by La Condesa’s Justin Garza, passed botanas and beats by DJ Steven Lee Moya. The chefs will join forces once again, breaking down black sea bass + pompano for the crowd in real time & on the big screen, and serving up a few of La Condesa’s signature fresh ceviches.
Learn how La Condesa makes its own masa in-house from kernel to finished form, press a tortilla yourself, then enjoy it grilled fresh from the plancha. Toast to the incredible cultural and culinary contributions of Mexico with a Margarita La Clásica in hand.
Tickets for ¡El Grito! are priced at $25 per person, and include entrance to the fiesta, bites + sips, and all of the fun; additional drinks available for purchase from the full bar.
