Fix-It at Home! Sewing: How to Thread and Clean Your Machine
September 5 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 amFree
Austin Resource Recovery presents Fix-It at Home!, a free interactive, online workshop series aimed at teaching Austinites repair and maintenance skills from home. Classes range from learning sewing basics and ‘patching’ up clothes, to fixing recreational equipment and household appliances.
This class is for anyone wanting to learn how to alter clothing to fit well. Our instructor will demonstrate how to hem and take in clothing, each followed by practice time for the participants. Feel free to bring pants or a skirt that need hemming, or a shirt that’s too large, to practice on!
Meet the Instructor! Logan Kramer is a home sewist focused on apparel sewing whose sewing education began 10 years ago when she wanted to upcycle and alter clothes. Her favorite recent sewing projects include jerseys for UT Austin’s robot soccer team and alterations for the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company.
Class size is limited. If you are unable to attend, please remove your registration. Class participants that live in the Austin-area will be given priority.
