Immaterial Fashion Show

IMMATERIAL is a fashion house founded by Troy Gomez, a trans woman of color hailing from Corpus Christi, TX. She seeks to showcase the ironic and whimsical streetwear of IMMATERIAL this summer through a runway show, in an effort to inspire the Austin fashion scene with a fresh take on what Texas creatives can manifest.
The opener, Billie Green, is a trans woman, freelance designer, and co-founder of IntimaQ, hailing from San Antonio. After a brief stint in NYC, she quickly realized the fashion world was inaccessible not only her to social class, but also to her gender identity. She came home determined to create something practical for the trans community. Thus IntimaQ, an innovative underwear line that has patented functionality, was made to make the daily lives of trans women and trans men easier. She is motivated by the creative queer community in Austin, particularly the women determined to put the Austin fashion scene on the map.
This fashion show will be a multimedia experience channeling immaterialism, existentialism, and maximalism. It will also serve as a means of visibility for other queer, trans, and minority creatives – those of which include a roster of runway models.
