WHO: The festive team at Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile
WHAT: The holiday season is here and that means family, friends and giving back. In the spirit of the season, Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile is
hosting their first ever Jacoby’s Festivus, a holiday party for everyone. Starting at 6 p.m. the Jacoby’s team will be offering fresh-baked cookies and hot chocolate on the grassy bluff overlooking the Colorado River. The evening will culminate with a tree lighting ceremony at 7:30 p.m.
Owner, Adam Jacoby, has selected several evergreens for this special occasion that will be replanted at the Jacoby’s Ranch in Melvin, TX after the holiday season.
Jacoby’s Festivus is not only about bringing family and friends together on the bluff for a fun holiday kick-off, it is also about giving back to others. Starting on November, 27 Jacoby’s Mercantile will be selling hand-cut and hand-painted, fair trade ornaments from Honduras. The proceeds from sales of the ornaments will go to Austin’s Capital Area Food Bank. The night of Jacoby’s Festivus guests are also encouraged to buy ornaments to help decorate the trees.
Jacoby’s Festivus is free and open to the public. The restaurant will be open for normal business hours and of course diners are encouraged to join the festivities on the bluff before or after dinner.
