The creative explosion in Texas in the early to mid-1970s centered on singer/songwriters working out of Austin. Jerry Jeff Walker, Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson and fellow Texans Guy Clark, Michael Murphey and more created a body of work not surpassed since. Now you can hear this music again!
All members of the Texas Music Legends Hall of Fame, the Lost Austin guys were playing and making this music when it happened. Whether on the concert stage or an intimate house concert, the Lost Austin Band delivers.
Since that time what was called “outlaw country” or “progressive country” has turned into Americana music beloved the world over. It’s that meeting of the soul of folk music with the beat of rock that lives on today.
Ernie Gammage, Craig, D Hillis, Bill Browder, Patterson Barrett and Dave Moerbe, each with long careers of their own, return to their musical roots as the Lost Austin Band with the songs that created this special time in Austin’s musical history.
“If you want to know why Austin is so special and hear the music responsible the very culture that made Austin ‘Austin,’ then get yourself to one of their shows. The show was electric, and the place was packed listening to the guys play iconic Texas songs and nailing it with their originals. It doesn’t get any better than the Lost Austin Band.” Austin Sayer, Texas Music Documentarian
