Makha Bucha Day at Sway Thai

In commemoration of Makha Bucha, Sway will be offering a non-alcoholic beverage menu which aligns with the Budhist tradition of ‘abstaining from drink that causes heedlessness.’ Each Sway location will also be holding a ‘letting go’ ceremony where one can cast intentions into a fire bowl in hopes of ‘purifying the heart.’

Makha Bucha – translated ‘to honor the third lunar month’ – is a Buddhist holiday celebrated annually on the night of the full moon during the third lunar month of the year. On the first Makha Bucha, the Buddha delivered his core teachings: ‘to cease to do evil, cultivate the good and purify the heart.’
