The festival will once again present an eclectic and hilarious mix of comics from around the country and internationally as well as a healthy lineup of local and regional talent, including stand-up, sketch, improv and musical comedy performances. Among this year’s headliners performing at the gorgeous 100-year-old Paramount are comedy legend Martin Short; writer, comedian, podcaster, and film director Kevin Smith, who will also present a live taping of the popular Jay and Silent Bob Get Old podcast with Jason Mewes as a special badge-only event; Maria Bamford, who will release her new series Lady Dynamite on Netflix in 2016; and Anjelah Johnson presents Bon Qui Qui’s Gold Plated Dreams Tour featuring Group 1 Crew.

Also on tap to tickle your funny bone is Jim Norton, co-host of the Sirius XM show Opie with Jim Norton, who will be returning to the festival with his popular stand-up show; newest SNL cast member Jon Rudnitsky; comedy lounge act The Lampshades, which includes Kate Flannery (The Office) and Scott Robinson; English magician and comedian Piff the Magic Dragon fresh off America’s Got Talent; Comedy Central Roast writer Jesse Joyce; Johnny Pemberton (Peanut on Disney XD’s Pickle and Peanut); Canadian comedy superstar Debra DiGiovanni; and Goddamn Comedy Jam, which is hosted by Josh Adam Meyers and features amazing comics first taking the stage for a stand-up set and then unshackling their inner rock star as they belt out cover songs (sometimes in full costume) in live band karaoke fashion with house band Elemenopy. This popular monthly show at the Lyric Theater in Hollywood is making its way to Texas and is a must-see.

Moontower favorites The Sklar Brothers are returning this year, as is Ron Funches of NBC’s Undateable Live, Andy Kindler, James Adomian, and more. The 2016 Moontower Comedy Festival is curating a hefty lineup of riotous up-and-comers and seasoned favorites to light up the city with laughter at the Paramount, Cap City Comedy Club, and a host of other venues centrally located. Additional performers, including headlining acts, are still to be announced. And the lineup is subject to change.
