The Austin Food & Wine Alliance and Tipsy Texan are excited to announce the judges and competing bartenders for the Official Drink of Austin cocktail competition on Thursday, February 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Fair Market. This year, the six participating bar teams that will shake it up, stir, and pour for a good cause are drink.well., Half Step, Odd Duck, Garage, Licha’s Cantina, and VOX Table. The teams will mix up Austin-inspired cocktails and top-notch bar food at Fair Market, 1100 East 5th Street, to raise funds for culinary grants while trying to capture the title of Austin’s official drink. The judges for this year’s event are Jason Kosmas, cofounder of The 86 Company and a pioneer of the classic cocktail scene in New York City; Jack Gilmore, chef and owner of Jack Allen’s Kitchen; JD Elliott, last year’s Official Drink of Austin winner and bartender at qui restaurant; Dan Gentile, writer for Thrillist; and Austin’s own singer/songwriter Gina Chavez.
