Pease Park Interpretive Planning Public Event

May 9, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Love Pease Park? We want to hear from you!

On May 9th, we are asking for community feedback to weigh in on what they love about Pease Park, what they already know about the park, and what they’d like to learn more about. The programming will begin with an introduction to what interpretive planning is and share more details about the master plan for Pease Park led by Erin McClelland owner of Erin McClelland Museum Services. Following the introduction, there will be a breakout session of small groups for attendees to brainstorm and choose stories about the park they would like to know more about.

The Pease Park Conservancy is beginning an interpretive master planning process and through this event we hope to gain a better understanding of what storylines are engaging and meaningful to current and prospective park users and to learn more about community perceptions and knowledge of the park, and how it could be made a more welcoming place for all. What is an interpretive plan you ask? It’s all about storytelling and identifying which stories we tell and how we can best communicate them. Pease Park has natural wonders and compelling history. This planning process will help explore these stories and share them! With your feedback and participation, you’re helping share that compelling history with all of Austin!

Please come and join this discussion about the park’s past, present, and future. For more information click on the Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/events/319202818767639/
