Greenhouse Craft Food, the celebrated, casual farm to table restaurant in Round Rock, TX, will host a special five-course beer pairing dinner on Sunday, September 21 that will showcase seasonal beers from Austin’s Rogness Brewing. The brewer, who specializes in small, handcrafted batches of beer, will pair its select styles with creative courses from Greenhouse Craft Food executive chef Rob Snow and sous chef Todd Engel.
The evening will begin with passed appetizers featuring Green Chili Pork Wontons with cantaloupe ginger puree and Mango Poke with tuna and Serrano on house cracker paired with Rogness’ Hefeweizen. The second course will feature Duck Confit Tamales with tomatillos, corn and Shishito peppers paired with Rogness’ Beardy Guard (reddish amber ale). Course three will consist of an IPA Gumbo with wild boar sausage, potato-wrapped prawn and a Ghost Pepper chili sauce, paired with Rogness’ Titanoboa Triple IPA. On the fourth course, guests will enjoy Cayenne Blackened Venison Loin with “Mudcat” risotto cake, cauliflower Red Pepper puree and crispy rice, paired with Rogness’ Mudcat American Brown Ale, a limited release hoppy brown ale brewed in conjunction with the 2014 “Keep Austin Beered ProAm” winner Corey Martin. The final course will deliver a dessert of Molasses French Toast with orange crème anglaise and spiced pecan ice cream with OST beer glaze paired with Rogness’ OST Porter (hungry yet?).
