Roots and Wings Festival

The City of Austin Government departments and community partners invite you to celebrate trees, butterflies, bees, and all creatures from your home, yard, and locations across our city with 2-weeks of nature-based events. Join us for live and virtual experiences and activities, with opportunities to stay inside or step out. From a windowsill or planter, to a patio garden, schoolyard, or park – you can explore and enjoy nature with the Roots & Wings Festival!

And be sure to join us at the Official Kickoff Party on Sunday, October 24 from 1 pm-5 pm at Zilker Botanical Garden! There will be family-friendly fun throughout the garden with many opportunities to connect with trees, butterflies, and nature in our city. The Oct. 24 Kickoff Party is included with the price of admission to Zilker Botanical Garden. Current admission rates can be found online at https://zilkergarden.org/hours-admissions. The Roots & Wings Festival is Austin’s combined celebration of Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day.
