Rotel Vegas

On Sunday, September 5th, Hotel Vegas is hosting their new and improved Rotel Vegas. Chili will be served, judged, and consumed by the masses. DJ Boi Orbison will be spinning an all-country vinyl and bands will play. Spicy fun will be had by all. Whether you’re entering the competition or tasting the chili, they’ve got something for everyone.

Each team will present a meat-based and a plant-based chili (everyone gets to try chili at Rotel Vegas). Teams will be judged by an esteemed judges panel in two categories: Professional Chefs and At-Home Cooks. However, Best In Show will be judged by the community. Beyond Meat is a sponsor of this year’s event and they will be donating the plant-based meat for each team to use. Segovia Produce is donating pantry items for both entries and Dans Processing Center (Alice, TX) is providing the beef for the meat-based chili.

This event is free, to taste and judge the chili, but guests will need to purchase a $5 chili tasting kit. Each kit contains serving bowls, spoons, napkins, and hand wipes. Once you’ve had your fill of chili, guests will place a token in the box of the team who they think should win Best in Show. Guests are welcomed to stick around after the winners are announced for a free after-party inside Hotel Vegas.

Guests are invited to donate to Southern Smoke, a nonprofit 501c3 foundation created to raise funds for charitable purposes, principally for support and assistance for those in the food and beverage community and their suppliers.
