Sherwood Forest Faire

Austin’s own Sherwood Forest Faire is now open weekends through April 24th. In its 13th annual season, Sherwood has broken attendance records in each of its first 3 weekends of 2022.

Sherwood Forest Faire is a Medieval Festival based on the tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Band set in a 25-acre permanent village in the Lost Pines region of Bastrop County just 35 miles east of Austin. Sherwood Forest Faire holds over 100 permanent building, 170 artisans & merchants, and 150 shows per day. The 2022 Entertainment Line-up is on the website www.SherwoodForestFaire.com. Visitors will see returning favorites such as Sky Kings Falconry, the Washing Well Wenches, Judas & Magnolia Escape Artists, and the New Riders of the Golden Age full contact jousting.  

In keeping with Austin’s spirit as the Live Music Capital of  America, Sherwood hosts at least 10 live music acts each weekend including The Inheritance, Master Bones, The Bedlam Bards, The Dublin Harpers, and The Jackdaws. The final 3 weekends in April will see the return of pipes and  drums bands The CRAIC and Tartanic.  

Sherwood’s artisan marketplace is extraordinary. You can meet many of the 170 artisans making hand crafted items such as jewelry, hand blown glass, leather boots, medieval and renaissance clothing, fine art, swords, chainmail  armor, wooden mugs, and more.
