The Sisters of Merida 2019 Guest Chef Dinner
Jul 14, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$150
Fonda San Miguel brings two celebrated chefs, sisters María Elidé Castillo and Delfina Castillo Tzab, to its kitchen July 14th as part of its 2019 All-Women Guest Chef Dinner Series. The sisters are the founders of Semilla de Dioses (Seed of Gods), a cooperative focused on gourmet Yucatán condiments of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.
For the sisters, Semilla de Dioses is more than selling their products; it’s about preserving their family traditions, empowering women to follow their dreams, and educating others about the cuisines of Mexico. In 2008, María Elidé and her sister Delfina formed the Semilla de Dioses cooperative in 2008, run by the women in their family. Their tenacity and creativity in the kitchen turned a small operation into a successful global enterprise.
